FAQs

Are your spinach plants organically grown?

Yes. All of our spinach plants are grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, making them safe to harvest straight to the kitchen.

How do I harvest spinach?

Spinach is best harvested using the cut-and-come-again method — remove the outer leaves as they reach full size and leave the center of the plant intact. The plant will continue producing new growth from the center. Harvest in the morning when leaves are crisp and most flavorful.

When should I plant spinach?

Spinach is a cool-season crop that grows best in spring and fall. It bolts (goes to seed) in summer heat, so plant early in spring for a spring harvest, or in late summer for a fall crop. Our plants arrive ready to go in the ground — check your local frost dates for timing guidance.

Can spinach grow in containers?

Yes — spinach is an excellent container crop. It has a shallow root system and does well in pots at least 6 inches deep. Place in a spot with morning sun and afternoon shade in warmer weather to slow bolting and extend the harvest window.

What if my spinach plant arrives damaged?

We stand behind every plant we ship. If your spinach arrives damaged, send us a photo within a few days of delivery and we'll arrange a free replacement.
