Shipping policy
Thank you for shopping with Planted Places! Because we specialize in shipping live plants, we take great care to ensure your greenery arrives happy, healthy, and on time. Below you'll find the details of our Shipping Policy. Note that we do not currently offer shipping outside of the United States.
Shipping Rates
Shipping charges are calculated and displayed at checkout. All items fall under one of 3 shipping categories:
Edible Seedlings: Seedling orders with less than 12 2" plants ship for $8.99 to Western states** and $15.99 to Eastern states. Orders of 12 or more 2" seedlings ship for free. Pre-planted seedlings have a higher rate and no threshold for free shipping, as the included soil adds significant weight.
Planted Wall, Bundles, & Garden Kits: Free shipping to Western states, weight-based elsewhere.
Everything Else: Weight-based, with lower prices for Western states.
**"Western states" include CA, WA, OR, ID, NV, UT, AZ, and CO.
Shipment Processing Time
All orders are processed within 2-3 business days. If we are experiencing a high volume of orders, shipments may be delayed by a few days. If we anticipate a significant delay in the shipment of your order, we will contact you via email. Some of our products are built to order. In those cases, you will be notified regarding your delivery date and status.
Shipping Schedule & Local Pickup
Live Plant Orders: We ship our seedlings only after they've grown to be strong enough to survive transport. We typically hold shipments of live plants placed after 3pm on Wednesdays until the following Monday to avoid longer delivery times, as this can be harmful to the live plants. Orders shipping outside of California are only sent out on Mondays and Tuesdays.
All Other Items (including the Planted Wall): All non-plant items are shipped every day of the week. Local pickups can be made in Irvine, CA. If you are interested in this option, you can schedule a pickup after checkout by contacting inquiries@PlantedPlaces.com, and your shipping cost will be refunded.
Delivery Times
We always use the fastest shipping method with an affordable rate. Every attempt is made to ensure plants arrive within a 5-day window. Delivery delays can occasionally occur under the watch of third-party shipping carriers. This is out of our control once packages are handed over to the shipping carriers. We monitor orders and will keep you updated on delays that occur longer than the quoted timeframes.
What if I want my plants to arrive on a specific day?
You can leave a note from the shopping cart to indicate the date you would like your plants to arrive. We'll time their departure to ensure someone's around to unbox them.
What If I Need to Change My Order?
You can send an email to orders@plantedplaces.com if you need a change made to an order. Every attempt will be made to satisfy your request. Changes cannot be made after the order has been packed and picked up for delivery.
Damages & Returns
Plants that arrive damaged, dead, or not healthy enough to transplant are guaranteed to be replaced at no additional cost. If your order arrives damaged or is lost during shipping, please contact customer service at inquiries@plantedplaces.com. Every attempt will be made to recover or replace the package.
