Shipping FAQ

Which states do you ship to?
Every US state except Hawaii & Alaska. We don’t currently ship to US territories or outside the United States.

Do you ship outside California?
Yes. Planted Places ships live plants, garden kits and supplies to all 48 contiguous states. We grow and ship from California, and customers order from coast to coast.

Do you ship to the East Coast and Midwest?
Yes. Orders to New York, Florida, Ohio, Texas, Illinois and every other state outside the West ship at weight-based rates. You’ll see the exact rate at checkout before you pay.

Is shipping free?
Select products ship free to 8 Western states: CA, WA, OR, ID, NV, UT, AZ and CO. These include garden kits, seedling theme 6-packs, the Planted Wall and the Monthly Floral Box. Everywhere else, shipping is weight-based, with the rate shown at checkout.

How long does shipping take?
Orders are processed within 2–3 business days. Live plants going outside California ship on Mondays and Tuesdays, so they never sit in a warehouse over the weekend. We aim for every plant to arrive within a 5-day window.

Will my plants survive shipping across the country?
Seedlings only ship once they’re strong enough to travel, in packaging designed for live plants. If anything arrives damaged or unhealthy, send us a photo within 30 days of delivery. We’ll replace it or refund it, whichever you prefer.

Can I choose when my plants arrive?
Yes. Leave a note in your cart with the date you’d like them to arrive, and we’ll time the shipment so someone’s home to unbox them.
