These 4" healthy live plants thrive in full sun in well-draining, lean to moderately fertile soil. Excellent drainage is essential — Gaura is sensitive to wet winter conditions and heavy clay soils. Water consistently during the first season to establish the deep taproot, then reduce to low, infrequent irrigation. Best suited for USDA Hardiness Zones 5–9. Mature height: 24–36 inches; spread: 18–24 inches. Blooms late spring through hard frost. Cut back by one-third in midsummer if stems become overly leggy to encourage a strong, fresh second flush of bloom through fall.
