This 4" healthy live plant thrives in full sun with moderate to low water and excellent drainage — Flamenco Red Hot Poker is highly drought tolerant once established but will not tolerate waterlogged or poorly drained soils, particularly in winter. A cold-hardy perennial suited to USDA Hardiness Zones 5–9, it returns reliably each spring and gradually increases in size and flower production over time. Mature height in bloom reaches 24–36 inches with a foliage spread of 18–24 inches. Primary bloom time runs from early summer through midsummer (June–August), with possible rebloom in fall. In colder zones, apply a light mulch over the crown in late fall for added winter protection.
