Collection: Coneflower Plants for Sale

Coneflower plants for sale, shipped as live, established plants ready to go in the ground.

Coneflowers — Echinacea — are among the toughest, most reliable perennials you can grow. They're drought-tolerant, native to North American prairies, and return year after year with bold, daisy-like blooms that attract bees, butterflies, and goldfinches from summer through fall. Available in classic purple as well as pink, white, orange, and yellow varieties, they work beautifully in borders, pollinator gardens, meadow plantings, and naturalistic landscapes.

FAQs

Is coneflower the same as echinacea?

Yes — coneflower is the common name for plants in the Echinacea genus. The terms are used interchangeably. Echinacea purpurea (purple coneflower) is the most widely grown species, but modern breeding has produced varieties in pink, white, orange, red, and yellow as well.

Are coneflowers perennial?

Yes. Coneflowers are tough, cold-hardy perennials that return year after year once established. They also self-seed freely, meaning a single plant will gradually spread and fill a bed over time if the seed heads are left standing through winter.

How much sun do coneflowers need?

Coneflowers prefer full sun — at least 6 hours of direct sun per day. They'll tolerate partial shade but bloom less prolifically. Once established they're very drought-tolerant and require minimal supplemental watering in most climates.

Are coneflowers good for pollinators?

Coneflowers are exceptional pollinator plants. Their prominent central cones attract bees and butterflies, and the seed heads that follow are a magnet for goldfinches and other seed-eating birds through fall and winter. Leaving the seed heads standing extends their value beyond the bloom season.
