Cape Blanco Stonecrop is a live 4-inch plant of Sedum spathulifolium, a compact evergreen succulent whose spoon-shaped leaves overlap into tight rosettes coated silver-white. Cold weather pushes the outer leaves toward purple and raspberry, and in late spring short stems lift clusters of small, brilliant yellow stars.

Give it the hard places. It thrives in a crevice between paving stones, along the top of a dry wall, in a gritty rock garden, on a windy coastal slope or in a shallow bowl — anywhere sun and sharp drainage meet. Spreading well past two feet in time, it carpets ground that is awkward to water. What it will not forgive is sitting wet all winter.

Fun fact: That silver coating is a waxy layer the plant lays down on its own leaf surfaces, reflecting sunlight and slowing water loss. It is why the color deepens in bright, dry sites, and why touching a rosette leaves a fingerprint behind.

One of the loveliest silver carpets for a dry corner, and it arrives healthy or we replace it free.

We use expedited shipping policies to protect plant health and minimize plant stress in transit.  All plants are in transit for only 1-3 days. (This does not guarantee 3-day delivery as orders are not always packed and sent out on the day of your order.) We send out deliveries on a weekly schedule to ensure quick transit times, so your order may not be packaged and shipped until later in the week. For instance, we may hold shipments to avoid weekend delays that keep plants in transit for longer.

All packaging includes eco-friendly material and our shipping methods are tested regularly to ensure plants arrive healthy upon arrival.

Additionally, any delays or damages in shipping are covered by our Healthy Plant Guarantee.

If you're plants arrived damaged, we will happily replace them for free!
