Growth Timeline
Growth Timeline
- Growing Season: Most fruits/veggies have their peak growing season starting in spring and extending through fall. They need a runway of consecutive warm days and nights (from 60-90) to produce fruit.
- First Harvest: Fruits/veggies take 2-3 months to bear fruit and/or reach ripeness.
- Final Harvest: Fruits/veggies start to give out between late summer and early fall in most climates. Some plants, such as strawberries, will become dormant in winter before popping back into action in for spring, but most fruiting plants will need to be replaced after their season is over.

Support Trailing Plants: Unless you are growing smaller plants (jalapeño or micro-tomatoes) you might want to use stakes, trellises, or cages to support the plants as they grow. This will prevent them from sprawling on the ground. Train the vines to grow vertically for better air circulation and easier harvesting.

Organic Woodland Strawberry (Fragaria vesca var. vesca) is the quintessential "wild" strawberry of the Northern Hemisphere, prized for centuries for its unparalleled flavor. This charming perennial is legendary among chefs for its tiny, teardrop-shaped fruits that pack an intense, concentrated sweetness and aroma that grocery store berries simply cannot match. Its delicate, five-petaled white flowers rise above tidy mounds of bright green foliage from early spring through mid-summer.
As a resilient member of the Fragaria genus, the Woodland Strawberry is uniquely adapted to thrive in dappled light, making it the premier edible choice for woodland edges, shaded pathways, or understory planting beneath fruit trees. It spreads gracefully by runners, forming a productive and decorative mat that acts as a natural weed barrier.
Why you’ll love it:
- Incredible Gourmet Flavor: The "gold standard" for jams and fresh foraging.
- Shade Tolerant: One of the few productive edibles that thrives in partial shade.
- Native Hardiness: Naturally resistant to many common garden pests.
Product Details: This healthy Organic Woodland Strawberry is delivered as an established 4-inch live plant in a nursery pot. It is ready to be planted in partial shade to full sun and prefers moist, well-drained soil.
