This 4" healthy live plant thrives in full sun to part shade with regular, moderate watering — allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings, as ivy geraniums prefer good drainage and are susceptible to root rot in consistently wet conditions. As a tender perennial grown as a warm-season annual in most climates, Great Balls of Fire Merlot performs best when planted after the last frost date and blooms continuously until frost. It may overwinter as a perennial in mild frost-free climates (USDA Zones 10–11). Trailing stem length reaches 24–36 inches. Deadhead spent flower clusters to encourage continuous bloom production.
