Carex pansa, commonly known as California Meadow Sedge, is a tough, low-growing, grass-like perennial native to California’s coastal regions.

This tuft-forming sedge spreads slowly by rhizomes to create a soft, walkable ground cover that tolerates light foot traffic. It is an excellent alternative to traditional lawns and performs well in meadows, patios, pathways, rock gardens, and naturalized landscapes.
