Collection: Coreopsis Plants for Sale

Coreopsis plants for sale, shipped as live, established plants ready to go in the ground or a container.

Coreopsis, also called tickseed, is one of the longest-blooming perennials you can grow. It covers itself in cheerful daisy-like flowers in shades of gold, butter yellow, and red-and-yellow bicolors from spring through mid-summer, with scattered blooms continuing until frost when spent flowers are deadheaded. Threadleaf varieties form airy, fine-textured mounds, while lanceleaf types produce bolder flowers on taller stems. Drought-tolerant once established and a favorite of bees and butterflies, coreopsis thrives in full sun with very little care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Tickseed is the common name for plants in the Coreopsis genus. Popular garden types include threadleaf coreopsis (Coreopsis verticillata), with fine, needle-like foliage, and lanceleaf coreopsis (Coreopsis lanceolata), with broader leaves and larger blooms. Most garden coreopsis are perennials, hardy in roughly USDA zones 4–9 depending on the species. Many types self-seed and spread over time, so a planting fills in on its own; lanceleaf coreopsis self-seeds especially freely. Coreopsis blooms over a long season, typically from spring through mid-summer, with scattered flowers continuing until frost. Deadheading spent flowers encourages continued blooming. Full sun, at least 6 hours a day. Coreopsis prefers well-drained, average to lean soil and is drought-tolerant once established. Rich soil or too much shade makes plants flop and flower less.
