This 4" healthy live plant thrives in full sun with low to moderate water and sharp, excellent drainage — Picta Rose Grass is highly susceptible to rot in consistently wet or poorly drained soils, particularly during its winter dormancy period. A cold-hardy perennial suited to USDA Hardiness Zones 7–9 in the ground; it can be grown in containers year-round in colder climates with protection from winter wet. Mature height reaches 4–6 inches with a spread of 6–8 inches. Primary bloom time runs from late spring through summer (May–August). In colder zones, grow in containers that can be brought under cover during wet winters to protect the dormant corms from excessive moisture.
