These 4" healthy live plants thrive in full sun to light part shade in fast-draining, low-to-moderate fertility soil. Excellent drainage is absolutely essential — Mimulus aurantiacus will not tolerate clay soils or summer moisture and is highly susceptible to root rot in wet conditions. Water sparingly to establish during the first season, then transition to a dry summer regime consistent with California native growing requirements. Best suited for USDA Hardiness Zones 8–11; native to coastal and foothill California. Mature height: 18–30 inches; spread: 18–24 inches. Blooms spring through summer.
