What can I grow?

The Kit comes with a curated lineup edible seedlings selected to thrive in the current season. Specific varieties vary by time of year. See this month's selection below.

Keep your local climate in mind. If nighttime temperatures are in the 30s or lower, you will need to grow indoors near a window with direct sunlight. You might want a grow light to provide supplemental lighting.

To find out what extreme temperatures your location experiences, check out the USDA zone for your region.

How soon can I harvest?

Generally, fast-growing leafy greens will be ready for harvest in as little as 3 weeks, although it can take up to 6 in unideal environments.

Microgreens are very quick, typically ready for harvest within 5 days of germinating seeds.

The included care guide will help you determine when your plants are ready for harvest. Signs such as leaf size or flower formation are key indicators. Planted Places provides ongoing support for this so don't be shy.

With regular care, you can enjoy a continuous harvest from the same plants throughout the season.

How do I replace my seedlings after harvest?

After your plants' final harvests, you can pick individual seedlings a la carte or order a curated bundle. You can get seedlings at a discount by subscribing to a bundle.

Can I grow indoors?

Yes! Plants included in our kits can thrive indoors if they receive enough light. Placing them near a window that has direct light can suffice, supplementing with a grow light is even better. Air flow is also helpful.
