Looking for a delicious and easy-to-grow cherry tomato variety? Look no further than Sungold Cherry Tomatoes! These tomato seedlings are a popular choice among gardeners and for good reason.

Plant Specifications:

These seedlings will mature in 55 to 65 days. You want to make sure to plant these seedlings in large container pots or in raised garden beds as they can get to heights of 10 ft tall and 3 feet wide. They will continue to produce tomatoes which ripen throughout the growing period which extends throughout the Summer months.  Once temperatures dip into the low 50's consistently, you will wind down the plant and take your final harvest.

Make sure to plant in nutrient dense soil, especially optimized for growing fruiting plants.  You can purchase our magic organic soil and organic soil boosters (micro and macro nutrients in the form of marine-based fertilizers, worm castings, and beneficial fungi) specifically curated for fruiting plants to help improve your soil.

Here's why should grow Sungold Cherry Tomatoes in your garden:

  1. Exceptional Flavor: Sungold Cherry Tomatoes have a sweet and tangy flavor that is unmatched by other cherry tomato varieties. They are perfect for snacking, adding to salads, or using in recipes that call for cherry tomatoes.

  2. High Yield: These tomato plants are prolific producers, so you can expect a bountiful harvest from just a few plants.

  3. Disease Resistance: Sungold Cherry Tomatoes are resistant to several common tomato diseases, making them a reliable and low-maintenance option for gardeners.

  4. Easy to Grow: Cherry tomatoes, in general, are easy to grow, but Sungold Cherry Tomatoes are particularly easy to care for. They can be grown in containers or in the ground and require minimal attention.

  5. Beautiful Appearance: These cherry tomatoes have a bright, golden-orange color that is sure to add a pop of color to any garden or dish.

Growth Timeline

  • Growing Season: Most fruiting plants have their peak growing season starting in Spring and extending through Fall. They need a runway of consecutive warm days and nights (from 60-90) to produce fruit.
  • First Harvest: Fruiting plants take 2-3 months to bear fruit and reach ripeness.
  • Final Harvest: Fruiting plants start to give out between late summer and early fall in most climates. Some plants, such as strawberries, will become dormant in winter before popping back into action in for spring, but most fruiting plants will need to be replaced after their season is over.

Growing Zone

Most fruiting plants prefer warmer temperatures and will be dormant or grow very slowly in colder climates. Refer to the following guidelines concerning extreme weather:

COLD CLIMATES

  • Fruiting plants require nighttime temperatures to consistently be in the 50s or above to survive.

WARM CLIMATES:

  • Fruiting plants are made for the heat and will do fine with temperatures above 90 degrees.

To find out what extreme temperatures your location experiences, check out the USDA zone for your region.

More Fruiting Plant Tips

  • Best Planted Wall Placement: Smaller fruiting plants, like micro-tomatoes and jalapeños, should be placed near the top so you can maximize light exposure and warmth. Larger fruiting plants are intended to be grown in larger pots.
  • Support: Unless you are growing smaller plants (jalapeño or micro-tomatoes) you should use stakes, trellises, or cages to support the plants as they grow. This will prevent them from sprawling on the ground. Train the vines to grow vertically for better air circulation and easier harvesting.
