Plant it in full sun, water moderately, and let the soil dry between waterings. It tolerates heat and drought, and deer usually leave it alone. It is a good choice for hot spots where thirstier plants struggle, and it looks at home beside agaves, sedums and other succulents.

Fun fact: It is often sold as Calandrinia spectabilis, but botanists place it in the genus Cistanthe.

Sunlight: Full Sun (6+ hrs)

Water: Let dry

Mature Size: 12–18" tall × 3–4' wide

Bloom Season: Summer, Fall

Lifespan: Perennial in zones 8–11 — grown as an annual in colder zones

Perennial Zones: 8–11

Special: Deer resistant, Ground cover

Like every plant we ship, it arrives healthy or we replace it free.
